You cannot pay with Eazybreak, Epassi, Smartum or Edenred in Nysse's customer service or on Nella.fi.
However, Eazybreak, Edenred, Epassi or Smartum can be used as payment methods at most of our sales points. Epassi commuter benefit can be used to buy single tickets on the PayiQ Tickets mobile app.
You can buy a single ticket for your friend in the Nysse Mobiili app or by using value loaded onto a travel card, provided your friend belongs to the same age group as you or a younger age group. You can also use contactless payment for your friend's ticket if you pay for your own journey using another payment method or a different payment card.
As the tickets remain in your possession, you cannot leave the vehicle before your friend. Passengers must have a valid ticket for the entire journey.

For this reason, names are not usually linked to individual organisations or businesses, as their names may change due to ownership changes, corporate restructuring or marketing reasons. Frequent name changes would also require updates to passenger information systems, maps and signage.
These principles help ensure that bus stop names remain consistent, up to date and easy for all passengers to recognise.
A Nysse bus stop name consists of two parts:
- A location name describing the stop’s location, for example Railway Station, Tesoma or Linnainmaa.
- A four-character stop code that uniquely identifies the stop.
The following principles are used when naming bus stops:
- Location-based naming: Stop names are based on a recognised location, such as a district, residential area, park or square.
- Matching stop pairs: Stops located at the same place are generally given the same name regardless of direction of travel.
- Letter suffixes: If there are multiple stops at the same location, a letter suffix is added to distinguish them from one another (for example, Keskustori A and Keskustori B).
- Name length: Names are generally limited to a maximum of 16 characters so that they can be displayed clearly on digital displays and in other systems.
- Numbers and addresses: Numbers are avoided in stop names to prevent confusion with stop codes. Street addresses are used only when no other clear naming option is available.
Tram stop names are decided by a separate naming committee.
The active pass can be loaded onto your travel card at the Nysse customer service or on the Nella.fi online service.
On Nella.fi, select your travel card and click the 'Other benefits' button below the card details. You need to identify yourself using Suomi.fi e-Identification.
With an active pass, you can load either a value ticket or a season ticket onto your travel card.
- Value ticket: You can load €45 twice on your card (or €90 at a time).
- Season ticket: The active pass covers €45 per season ticket, and you pay the excess. For example, if you load two 30-day season tickets for AB zones, the excess is €20 per season ticket.
If you want both a value ticket and a season ticket, you can load a €45 value ticket on your card and any season ticket for which you pay the excess of €45.
From 1.1.2025 onwards, there will be no co-payment for tickets loaded with an active pass.
