Nysse shifts to summer schedules - check out the changes

Wednesday, 20 May 2026 at 09:00

Nysse shifts to summer schedules on Monday, 1 June. Routes intended for students and schoolchildren will be suspended. Construction at the Tampere rail yard will affect lines 6, 29, 42, and 90 in the city center, and there will also be route changes in North Tampere and Ylöjärvi. The summer season ends on Tuesday, 4 August.

The following bus lines will be on summer break:

  • in Kangasala, lines 44, 44A, 44B, 46, 47, 48A, 48B, 48C, 48D, and 49;
  • in Lempäälä, lines 56, 57, and 59;
  • in Nokia, lines 72, 76, 77, and 78 (line 76 will be discontinued and will not return to service in the fall);
  • in Orivesi, lines 97C and 97D; in Pirkkala, line 39;
  • in Northern Tampere, lines 91, 92, and 93;
  • in Ylöjärvi, line 86;
  • in Valkeakoski, lines 44, 44A, 44B, 63, 65A, 66, 68, and 69.

Buses will return to service on Wednesday, 5 August 2026.

Passenger rail yard construction site causes route changes in the city center

The Itsenäisyydenkatu underpass will be closed to vehicle traffic for several years due to construction work on the new passenger terminal. This will cause changes to the routes of bus lines that pass through the underpass. Trams will continue to operate through the tunnel as usual.

Lines 6, 42, and 90 will be rerouted from Rautatienkatu to Yliopistokatu. The final stop for line 6 will remain at Sorin aukio E on Suvantokatu. Lines 42 and 90 will run to the bus station.

Line 29 runs via Tammela and Armonkallio. Additionally, a district heating construction site is starting at the northern end of Rautatienkatu, which means the Kyttälä stops on Rongankatu will be out of service until fall. These stops will be replaced by the Vapriikki stops on Lapintie.

Lines 30 and 31 return to Hatanpään valtatie

Construction work by the Pirkkala-Linnainmaa alliance will continue throughout the summer, and service on lines 30 and 31 can be returned from the Lempääläntie detour back to Hatanpään valtatie.

Route network in Northern Tampere renewed

The route network in Northern Tampere is being renewed, and the operator is changing. Koiviston Auto Tampere Oy will become the new operator in the area. The Tampere City Regional Public Transport Committee approved the route plan on 23 April, 2025.

Line 90 will continue to operate to Tampere city centre. All buses will run via Eerolansuora and Maisansalo between Terälahti and the city center. The new destination stop is the bus station. Lines 91–93 will serve schoolchildren in the area. These lines will only start operating in August when school begins. The service on connection line 15 will remain unchanged. The route runs from Sorila to the Kauppi campus, where there is a connection to tram line 1.

Route changes in Ylöjärvi

Line 82 will be permanently removed from Urkonmäki. The new route runs via the Pallotie junction directly to the center of Ylöjärvi, improving connections from Metsäkylä and Elovaino to Tampere. The new route will have stops on Pallotie and Vaasantie. Service in Urkonmäki will continue with line 84.

Due to construction work in Hatola, line 80 will be rerouted to Pohjolantie at the start of the summer season on 1 June 2026. All stops on Käyräkuja and some of the stops on Mastontie will be removed from the route. The detour will remain in effect for the entire summer season.

Lines 84 and 85 will operate only on weekdays. Additional shifts will be added to line 85 toward Kuru.

Passenger numbers influence summer schedules

Passenger numbers have been reviewed in comparison to the previous summer season, and schedules are being updated to meet summer demand.

During the summer season, line 18 will run every 15 minutes on weekdays. Additional shifts will be added to weekday service on lines 33 and 35, so that the lines run every 20 minutes. Line 35 will also begin the long-awaited Saturday service every half hour.

More shifts will be added to line 60: on weekdays, service will generally run every half hour, and additional shifts will be added on weekends.

Timetables are already available in the Nysse journey planner and timetable service.
