Impact of May Day Events on Public Transport in Tampere

May Day (Vappu) events will cause temporary changes to public transport services in Tampere city centre on the night of 30 April and on 1 May 2026, between 11:00 and 16:00.
On May Day Eve, the changes affect only a few bus services operating around midnight. On May Day, the changes apply to all tram and bus lines operating on Hämeenkatu as well as bus services in Hämeenpuisto.
May Day Eve, Thursday 30 April 2026
On May Day Eve, public transport will operate according to Friday schedules. Night services will run on the following routes: 2–10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70 and 80Y. May Day Eve timetables are available in the Nysse Journey Planner and timetables.
Buses 2, 4, 5, 7, 8, 10, 30, 40 and 50 will operate on detour routes between 23:45 and 00:15 due to an event on Hämeensilta Bridge. The changes affect only a few individual departures, so the diversion routes are not shown in the Nysse Journey Planner.
- Buses 2, 7 and 8 operate via Ratinanranta.
Stops Keskustori and Koskipuisto will not be served. - Buses 4, 5 and 50: start and terminus stop is Sorin aukio G (Hatanpään valtatie).
Stops Keskustori, Koskipuisto and Sorin aukio F will not be served. - Buses 10 and 30 operate via Ratinanranta.
Stops Keskustori, Koskipuisto and Sorin aukio will not be served. - Bus 40: start and terminus stop is Sorin aukio E (Suvantokatu).
Stops Keskustori, Koskipuisto and Sorin aukio D will not be served.
The event may also affect tram services. Buses 20, 70, and 80 will be able to operate normally from the west to Keskustori.
Due to the short duration of the situation, the diversion routes will not be shown in the Nysse Journey Planner or timetable services.
May Day, Friday 1 May 2026
On May Day, public transport will operate according to Saturday schedules. Due to events in Tampere city centre, no public transport will operate on Hämeenkatu between 11:00 and 16:00. The events will also affect bus routes in Hämeenpuisto.

Detour routes between 11:00 and 16:00
- Tram 1 (west): Lentävänniemi – Pyynikintori
- Tram 1 (east): Kaupin kampus – Kalevan kirkko
- Tram 3: Hervanta – Tulli
- Buses 4, 7, 8 and 10: Pyynikintori – Kaakinmaa – Eteläpuisto – Ratinanranta – Sorin aukio (routes 7 and 8) / Viinikka (routes 4 and 10)
- Bus 30: Pyynikintori – Kaakinmaa – Eteläpuisto – Ratinanranta – Hatanpää
- Buses 2 and 14: Särkäniemi – Amuri (Kortelahdenkatu) – Kaakinmaa – Ratinanranta – Sorin aukio (route 2) / Viinikka (route 14)
- Buses 40 and 90: Start and terminus stop at Sorin aukio E (Suvantokatu). 90 operates via Rautatienkatu
- Buses 5, 12, 32 and 50: Start and terminus stop at Sorin aukio G (Hatanpään valtatie)
- Buses 70, 80 and 82: Operate only as far west as Pyynikintori.
Closed tram stops between 11:00 and 16:00: Tuulensuu, Keskustori, Koskipuisto, Sorin aukio, Railway station. Additionally, Sammon aukio and Tulli will not be served on Tram 1.
Closed bus stops between 11:00 and 16:00: Metso, Aleksanterin kirkko, Näsinpuisto, Hämeenpuisto, Tuulensuu, Keskustori, Koskipuisto, Rautatieasema C and D (Hämeenkatu) and Sorin aukio F (Hatanpään valtatie).
Normal service will begin to resume at approximately 16:00, provided that Hämeenkatu can be reopened. Up-to-date information will be available on the Nysse website (Disruptions), in the Journey Planner, and on stop and onboard displays.
