Route 7 will begin serving Käräjätörmä from Monday 28 September 2026. The route extension will improve public transport connections in western Tampere and enhance access to services in Tesoma.

The new terminus of route 7 will be located in Käräjätörmä, a growing residential area at the northern end of Tesoman valtatie. The terminus will be the current bus stop Tesoman uimahalli 1645, which will be renamed Käräjätörmä 1645.

The change will improve connections to the new residential area of Käräjätörmä. At the same time, it will create a direct link from Kalkku, Villilä and Ala-Rahola to Tesoma school, the sports hall, swimming hall and ice rink.

Travel to the city centre via transfer or through Kalkku

From Käräjätörmä, route 7 will continue to Kalkku via Tesoma as it does today, and from there onwards to the city centre via Villilä and Ala-Rahola.

Passengers travelling to the city centre should note, however, that travelling via Kalkku and Villilä takes approximately 15 minutes longer than using connecting services.

Tesoma offers convenient connections to routes 4 and 8, which follow a more direct route to the city centre. In addition, Tesoma railway station provides rail connections to Tampere and Nokia.

Changes to bus stops in Tesoma

As part of the route change, route 7 bus stops in Tesoma will move from Tesomankatu to Tesoman valtatie. The new stops will be Tesoma C 1611 and Tesoma D 1610.

The Tesoma F bus stop, located in front of the Wester Wellbeing and Commercial Centre, will be taken out of service. The change will improve access to the centre's parking garage. In addition, passengers will be able to wait for their bus under shelter at the new stops, as it has not been possible to build a canopy at the Tesoma F stop.

Timetables and passenger information

Timetables on the current section of route 7 will remain unchanged. Timetables for the new route section serving Käräjätörmä are already available in the Nysse Journey Planner. Other timetable services and passenger information at bus stops will be updated to reflect the changes as soon as possible.

Further information

The extension of route 7 to Käräjätörmä was previously approved as part of the plusbus service, which is scheduled to launch in 2028. However, with the completion of the street renovation in Käräjätörmä, the route change can be introduced already before the start of plus bus operations.
