F.A.Q.
Frequently asked questions on various topics
Each Nysse stop name consists of two parts:
- A location-based name that describes the area (e.g. Tesoma, Linnainmaa).
 - A four-digit stop ID that uniquely identifies the stop.

Principles for naming bus stops:
- Descriptive location: The name is based on a well-known area, such as a district, residential area, park, or square. Examples include Kaukajärvi, Annala, Sorin aukio.
 - Stop pairs in the same location: Stops located in the same place, such as stops in the city center and suburbs, should be given the same name.
 - Letter suffix: If there are multiple stops with the same name in one area, a letter suffix is added (e.g. Keskustori A, Keskustori B) to distinguish them.
 - Length: The name should ideally be no longer than 16 characters to ensure it fits clearly on digital displays and other systems.
 - Avoiding numbers: Numbers are avoided in the name to prevent confusion with the four-digit stop ID. Addresses are only used if no other clear naming option is available.

The names of tram stops are decided by a separate naming committee.
All the trams and most of the buses have automatic air conditioning.
In older buses, the driver can set the temperature of the bus. Such buses have no cooling system, which means that the bus can get hot during warm weather.
In most new buses, the temperature is set to +22 °C in the summer. In the winter, passengers wear thicker clothing, which is why the temperature is set to +18 °C.
Repeatedly opening the large doors of the bus at stops creates a challenge in cooling. The cooling may not be able to keep up with the varying temperatures, which is why even the buses with air conditioning can get hot in the summer.
Passengers should not open the sunroofs of the bus but inform the driver. The sunroofs are for emergency exit and can be broken or detached if opened incorrectly. In that case, the passenger is liable for the cost of the repairs.
We recommend giving feedback on passenger comfort to the driver or later using an online form.
