The adapted service means that there will be fewer public transport services and some lines will run on off-peak routes.
The underpass at Itsenäisyydenkatu will be closed - buses on special routes
The northern tunnel of Itsenäisyydenkatu will be closed on June 2, 2025 due to renovations in the railway yard. Buses will be transferred to special routes between Tulli and the city centre for the summer.
Buses 6, 42, 90, 93 and 95 will run via Tampere-talo, University and Sorin aukio. The departure and arrival stops of the buses will remain unchanged. There will be no stops at the railway station. If the area around Nokia Arena is closed for the event, the lines will run between the University and Sorin aukio via Tampereen valtatie.
Bus 29 will run via Tammela, Osmonmäki and Jussinkylä. The Kyttälä stops on Rongankatu will be missed.
The tram will run through the tunnel as normal. Buses 11, 13, 26 and 103 on Rautatienkatu will also be unaffected by the works.
A short-term route change in the direction of Kaleva
The tram rails on Itsenäisyydenkatu will be maintained during early summer. Buses 6, 29, 42, 90, 93 and 95 will run in the direction of Kaleva via Lähteenkatu and Salhojankatu from 2 to 20 June 2025. No stops will be missed on the route, as the Sorsapuisto stop will be moved to Lähteenkatu during the construction work.
Going to the railway station?
The railway station is easily accessed by tram, which you can change to at stops such as Sammonaukio.
The walking distance from Sorin aukio or Koskipuisto to the railway station is about 500 metres.
