Winter 2025-2026
The winter season will begin on Monday, 4 August 2025, and end on Sunday, 31 May 2026. No significant changes have been made to the route network.
The school lines will start operating only at the start of the school term on Wednesday, 6 August. These lines will not operate during holidays for basic education and upper secondary institutions. The school lines are 39, 44, 46, 47, 48A, 48B, 48C, 48D, 49, 56, 57, 59, 76, 77, 77X, 78, 78X, 86, 86X, 97C, and 97D.
Lines 72, 76, 90 (via Aitolahdentie) and 93A, which were on summer break, will return to service. Line 93C will take a winter break.
Public transport services across the entire network will be reduced for the Christmas holiday period from 22 December 2025 to 6 January 2026.
This is part of cost-saving measures in public transport, aiming to achieve savings of approximately half a million euros.
The Tampere City Region Public Transport Committee decided on the winter season services on 29 January 2025, and on the cost-saving measures on 18 June 2025.
Changes
School line 37 Takahuhti – Olkahinen has been discontinued, as the school pathway in Northeast Tampere has shifted from Takahuhti to Sammon koulu School in Kaleva. The connection from Aitolahdentie to Takahuhti School will now require a transfer.
Responsibility for organising school lines in Lempäälä is transferring from the municipality of Lempäälä to Nysse. The service has been renewed on lines 56 Säijä, 57 Mattila, and 59 Lastunen.
Shift changes
Shifts will be increased based on the number of passengers on lines 33 and 35 on weekdays and on line 50 at weekends. On Saturdays, services on line 18 will be reduced and on line 27, Saturday services will be discontinued. On line 52, weekend services will be withdrawn.
Christmas Holiday
A tailored, cost-effective service is planned for the Christmas holiday period, from 22 December 2025 to 6 January 2026. Timetables will be published in October.
- On weekdays, morning services will generally begin as on regular weekdays, after which the service will follow the Saturday timetable structure until midnight.
- On Fridays and New Year’s Eve, night services are available on main lines 2–10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 70, and 80Y.
- On Saturdays, services will run according to the Saturday timetable.
- On Sundays and public holidays, services will follow the Sunday timetable and/or special holiday timetables.
The following lines will be suspended: 27, 28, 31, 33, 34 (Tesoma – Lielahti), 35, 39, 41, 44, 46, 47, 48A–D, 49, 52, 55 (Vesilahti – Narva), 56, 57, 59, 72, 76, 77, 78, 79A, 86, 90 (Aitolahdentie/Eerolansuora), 91, 92, 93, and 96.
Detour routes
Lines 6, 29, 42, and 95 will return to Rautatienkatu, and lines 90 and 93 to Hämeenkatu on Tuesday, 5 August.
Line 16 will continue on a detour between Ruotula and Takahuhti due to roadworks on Irjalankatu.
Detours for Nokia lines will remain in place due to redevelopment works near the station area in Nokia.
Line 81 will continue on a detour in Asuntila, Ylöjärvi, due to roadworks on Asuntilantie.
