How to use city bikes
The city bike season 2025 is over
Thanks for cycling with us! The next city bike season starts on 15 April 2026.
1. Start your journey
- Select a city bike station from the map in the app.
- Unlock the bike by reading the QR code of the bike using the app’s QR code reader.
- The lock opens and your trip can begin.
2. Ride
You can ride for 60 minutes at a time at no extra charge.
- A single-trip fee covers a single trip of up to 60 minutes.
- Daily, monthly and seasonal passes include an unlimited number of trips of up to 60 minutes. If you want to ride the bike longer than 60 minutes without extra charges, return the bike to any city bike station, end the ride using the app and start a new ride with another or the same bike.
If you ride the bike for more than 60 minutes at a time, your payment card will be charged according to the pricing list. The maximum ride time is 5 hours. If you exceed 5 hours, the extra fee is EUR 80.
3. Return
- You can return the bike to any city bike station.
- Finish your trip in the app.
- Lock the bike and wait for confirmation that your trip has ended.

You must follow traffic rules while using a city bike: according to the Traffic Code, a cyclist should usually use a helmet while cycling.
The city bike service does not provide shared helmets, but you can use your own helmet.
When you want to finish your trip, return the city bike to any city bike station. Finish your trip in the app and lock the bike. Wait for confirmation that the trip has ended.
At a physical station, i.e. a station with city bike racks, the city bike should be returned to the rack. With a virtual station, it is enough to return the city bike locked close the information board. The city bike can be returned to the station even if the station is full.
In case of problems, you may submit a problem report on Nysse’s website. In urgent situations, you may contact the city bike customer service by phone at 03 4109 1001. Calls and queuing are chargeable. Customer service is open Mon–Fri from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sat–Sun from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The city bike maintenance team is constantly checking the city bikes for any issues and taking care of maintenance and repairs when necessary. Using a faulty city bike is not allowed.
